When I heard the term Shrimp Basket for the first time, I was like ‘Uh, oh, what is that? A basket in form of a shrimp?’ Other images that sprung to my mind were a fast-food dish, similar to the famous KFC buckets, but just with shrimps in it, or even something to catch shrimp with. The later was not so completely wrong. A shrimp basket is a specialty cooking pot for seafood, including shrimps. The basic idea is like this: A set of three components, a large pot to hold and boil the water or cooking liquid, a perforated basket to hold the shrimp and other seafood and a lid to close the pot and preserve the heat and steam.
